Global Atlantic Study Highlights Shifting Financial Priorities and the Need for Planning Amid Pandemic
NEW YORK, NY — July 21, 2020 — Global Atlantic Financial Group, a leading U.S.-focused retirement, life insurance and reinsurance company, today announced its inclusion in the annual Barron’s list of the Best Annuities. Our fixed and fixed index annuities, issued by Forethought Life Insurance Company, were recognized by Barron’s in multiple categories, highlighting our Immediate and Deferred Income Annuities, Fixed Annuities and Fixed-Indexed Annuities.
The Barron’s article notes: “Like any insurance product, when risks flare up, annuities shine for those who have them. The stock market downdraft and subsequent volatility this year have been the nightmare scenario that many retirees hope to avoid…”
The list is a compilation of “100 competitive annuities based on assumptions such as age, gender, size of investment, and time horizon.” The annuities are issued by companies with an A.M. Best Financial Strength Rating (FSR) of A- or above. In July, A.M. Best reaffirmed an FSR of A (Excellent – Third highest of 13) for Global Atlantic’s insurance companies.*
“We strive to provide a variety of annuities that Americans can incorporate into their retirement plans in order to help secure a protected income that they can’t outlive,” said Paula Nelson, President of Global Atlantic’s retirement business. “We are proud that Barron’s has recognized several of our annuities as some of the best.”
