The Control M Administrator  can report into our Des Moines, IA, Boston MA, or Hartford CT office. They will be responsible for maintaining the Control-M ecosystem by ensuring the Control-M environment is reliable, stable, and kept current.  They will be responsible for creating reference architectures, best practices and procedures and will setup, monitor and schedule batch jobs across multiple applications and operating systems.


  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the Control-M environments that support multiple applications.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and oversight of Control-M best practice policies and procedures.
  • Train, mentor, and lead software automation team members as well as development teams on the best practices for using Control-M.
  • Collaborate with application and product managers, software developers and other stakeholders to design appropriate automation across multiple software applications. Perform business analysis to gather functional requirements for software applications under development for automation.
  • Must be able to illustrate subject matter expertise in the workload automation space with complete knowledge of the enterprise scheduler environment.
  • Responsible for delivering business automation improvements and maximizing the utilization of Enterprise Scheduling.
  • Provides technical delivery direction and oversight of Control-M environments.
  • Perform investigations, review audit and control processes, change management, process architecture, and other automation issues.

Required Skills

  • Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a computer related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience supporting BMC Control M or similar automation software.
  • Extensive experience supporting Control-M Workload Automation Enterprise Suite
    • Enterprise Manager, Servers, Agents, Control Modules, Managed and/or Advanced File Transfer, Workload Change Manager, Business Impact Manager, Application Integrator, Automation API and Self Service
  • Control-M Administration, Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting of Control-M, Scripting and Technical Documentation development.
  • Detailed knowledge of Control-M architecture and administration with experience in migration and upgrades of Control-M and Control-M components/modules.
  • Experience with incident management tools such as PagerDuty and ServiceNow.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as python and PowerShell.
  • Experience with software automation programmatic interface technologies such as RESTful web services and JSON.
  • Proficiency and advanced experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL and Microsoft database technologies, and SQL
  • Experience with multiple operating system platforms such as Linux, AIX, Microsoft, etc.
  • Detailed knowledge of general IT infrastructure, networking, and distributed application architecture as well as familiarity with event data logging and collection, and general data integration methodologies.
  • Exceptional communicator with superior interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders including the ability to translate and present technical and analytical issues.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to be self-directed in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • High degree of flexibility, motivation, and drive. Must be able to adjust to changes in approach based on new information.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to apply IT concepts to perform complex analysis and functions from multiple IT areas of specialization.
  • Ability to act as subject matter expert (SME), suggest best practices, and convert client vision into an actionable road map for re-shaping business processes.
  • Ability to influence change across a matrix organization and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver solutions.
