Is Global Atlantic owned by private equity now?

Global Atlantic is now a majority-owned subsidiary of KKR and part of the KKR public company. The company is not held within a private equity fund. With this deal, KKR acquired a majority ownership stake in Global Atlantic. Private investors comprise the balance of our shareholders, including many original investors who want to continue this journey with us.

Is Global Atlantic the only annuity and life company that is a majority-owned subsidiary of KKR?

KKR does not own other annuity and life insurance subsidiaries. KKR subsidiaries manage assets for other insurance companies and for retirement accounts of large pensions and other entities.

Will I still deal with the same Global Atlantic people?

Yes, your key contacts will remain the same. Global Atlantic will have the same management team, who look to advance our leadership positions in the Annuity and Life Insurance marketplace.

What does this mean for me as a (Counterparty/firm/partner/client)?

Nothing is changing for you. You will continue to deal with the same people you do today.

If I (my client) have a policy with you, how do I know that my money is safe?

The insurance company with which you hold your policy does not change as a result of the KKR acquisition. Global Atlantic’s financial strength remains unchanged and Global Atlantic is well positioned to meet all our policyholder obligations. Additionally, we are now a majority-owned subsidiary of KKR, a public company, providing even greater transparency into our financial strength.

Do you anticipate adjusting rates/caps on your products?

Our products and offerings remain the same, and we continue to leverage our investment and risk management strengths to remain competitive in the marketplace.

How can you assure us Global Atlantic’s new ownership will not cause a disruption to your ability to distribute annuity and life products?

The new ownership structure does not affect our distribution platforms. Your key contacts and the new business process remain the same.

Will you continue to offer all the same products?

Yes. We continue to offer the same product line-up and will continue to evaluate and optimize our offerings as a normal course of business. KKR’s long-term capital structure and complementary investment management expertise supports our continued growth and expands our ability to explore new markets and product opportunities in the future.

Will there be any change, up or down, on Global Atlantic’s ratings?

Upon announcing the signing of the merger agreement in July 2020, all ratings agencies affirmed our current ratings. Moody’s took the additional step of raising the rating outlook to “Positive.”

What, if anything, changes in Global Atlantic’s servicing operations?

There are no changes to the servicing of your clients’ policies. All service center contact information is the same and you should continue making premium payments as you do today to ensure continuity of coverage.

Is Global Atlantic committed to the business under KKR?

Yes, Global Atlantic remains committed to being a leader in the Annuity and Life Insurance marketplace.

Does the KKR transaction affect Global Atlantic’s sales goals?

Global Atlantic’s business objectives, including sales goals, remain unchanged.

All customer service addresses and contact information remain the same.
