The Assistant Vice President (AVP) will be responsible for asset-related, Bermuda regulatory capital reporting for our multiple reinsurers, coordinating accounting, and investment support in a larger matrix organization. The Assistant Vice President will evaluate new investments for capital impact, represent us in development of new reporting, controls, and data capabilities on development teams, and deliver capital analyses, and timely and accurate regulatory and financial reporting & analysis to management, the entity Boards. The successful incumbent will operate as a member of the finance team supporting Global Atlantic’s Institutional Markets business which includes sidecars and is a major source for growth. Reporting to the Bermuda Controller, the AVP will contribute to various business and corporate initiatives and special projects. In addition to possessing the specific qualifications cited below, all candidates must work well within a complex, fast-paced, fluid environment, and possess a proven ability to design and lead operational and accounting change. This role will have significant contact and visibility with senior executives of the Institutional business and the Bermuda reinsurance and corporate entities.

Key responsibilities of the role include (across all Bermuda entities):

  • Coordinate across source functions for capital reporting providing control reviews of asset results to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
  • Synthesize and summarize detailed financial data to create meaningful monitoring metrics and high-level, result oriented analysis used for cross functional capital analysis and for management, board, group capital and side car investor reporting
  • Monitor and forecast by entity proforma impact of potential investment and reinsurance transactions
  • Enhance and expand current control environment
  • Expand availability of monthly information and identify and champion initiatives to accelerate capital reporting processes and developing automation tools
  • Support regulatory reporting on a US GAAP, US Statutory, Bermuda Statutory and Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet bases. Provide asset and capital expertise to various business and financial reporting colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related analytical subject
  • Internationally recognized accounting or actuarial designation
  • Minimum of 8 years of related accounting or actuarial and reporting experience with demonstrated investments familiarity preferably with a re/insurer
  • Must have experience working with Life Re/Insurance and/or Annuity products
  • Robust knowledge & experience working with Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet and BSCR but will consider candidates with US Statutory accounting and RBC strong experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in matrix organizations and manage competing priorities
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating insightful, actionable reporting and analyses

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k)), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $115,000 to $219,000.
