POSITION OVERVIEW

This role will join the Compliance Team within the Market Conduct Unit and report directly to the Head of Regulatory Examinations.  The role will primarily support the receipt, review and response requirements to market conduct examinations and inquiries covering a variety of target areas within the business and operations of insurance.  This position supports the exam response process through a variety of tracking and follow-up monitoring activities.  This includes reaching out (phone / email) to various points of contact within the Company for the purpose of communicating new inquiries, scheduling review meetings with key functional areas, contacting for status updates and scheduling follow-ups regarding outstanding requested items and receiving and previewing the response items for tracking and monitoring. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, research, and respond to regulatory examination requests and inquiries in a timely manner
  • Develop successful working relationships with Global Atlantic’s Business and Operational contacts as well as Third Party Administrators to aid in the examination production and response process
  • Assist in the identification of examination request exposures / gaps and implement solutions to resolve areas of concern to produce the most comprehensive examination response
  • Support inquiries and data requests from examinations and regulatory filings
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures and practice improvements with critical business partners
  • Assist in strengthening and building relationships with examination teams, regulators, the sales organization, new business, legal and compliance, operations, and other areas that engage with the Compliance department
  • Maintain a professional, balanced and fair approach in communications with internal business partners, Third Party Administrators and Regulators
  • Support the identification and development of response criteria to address examination requests
  • Support Market Conduct Exam activity – data analysis, documentation preparation, organization, and preparation of files for presentation and/or storage, etc.
  • Other Compliance activities as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A mixture of compliance and operational insurance knowledge that has been acquired by demonstrable work experience
  • Preferred 2-year life and/or annuity insurance experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working under pressure and against tight deadlines with multiple competing deliverables
  • Motivated self-starter, strong work ethic, high level of personal integrity, demonstrates level of maturity and accountability
  • Ability to make decisions, use sound independent judgement, establishes priorities, and works effectively on multiple competing initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong writing skills with demonstrable persuasive writing experience a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Tableau or other visualization software experience a plus

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.  Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $76,000 to $145,000.
