Global Atlantic Financial Company Bermuda Limited invites applications to join the Bermuda Finance team as an Analyst.  The Analyst will support the Bermuda reinsurance companies and the company’s Institutional business segment primarily capital management, regulatory reporting and investment compliance reporting, but will also support the Global Atlantic Bermuda subsidiaries’ and sidecars’ internal reporting needs. A key goal for this role is to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information related to capital management, regulatory reporting, and funds withheld funding agreement reporting. The analyst will partner with the risk team to monitor results of performance of the financial funds withheld funding agreements and produce analyses on actual to expected performance. This is an extraordinary opportunity to grow with our dynamic and leading long-term, reinsurance business to gain exposure to life and annuity business across several accounting and capital regimes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory reporting on US GAAP, US Statutory, Bermuda Statutory and Bermuda Economic balance sheet bases for multiple reinsurers as well as buildout and execution of control processes.
  • Deliver financial reports, footnotes and supporting documentation for corporate and entity reporting requirements.
  • Perform quarterly review and analysis of net investment income and net cost of insurance for the purpose of management reporting and analyses. Track availability of information, review variances in trend or expected levels, prepare reconciliations, produce control and flash reports for Finance teams.
  • Assist with funds withheld account quarterly roll-forwards, identify variances and reconcile movements on a treaty basis.
  • Gather and complete information on investment performance of funds withheld funding agreement and investigate unexpected results.
  • Maintain funds withheld funding agreement reporting for Management, Risk, Tax, and other stakeholders. Design and manage delivery of automated reports and processes. Develop, enhance and document controls.
  • Support system enhancements and recommend and design process/system improvements that maximize operating efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required-
  • Studying towards a CPA, CA or other comparable professional accounting designation
  • Minimum 1+ year in insurance accounting; recent experience in life insurance with reinsurance exposure is preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of controls, including ability to design and implement improved/automated control environment.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.  Pro-active, detail oriented and deadline driven; able to consistently deliver high quality product.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence others and communicate across all areas of the company.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with a continuous improvement and automation history.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel required.
  • Familiarity with Essbase, Hyperion, W Desk, Tableau, Power Query and other reporting and analysis applications a plus.



Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $51,000 to $97,000
