The Opportunity

The COO, Investments will provide leadership and management supervision wherever necessary to support the Investments President and CIO, maximizing all revenue opportunities between Global Atlantic and KKR. They will set the tone by implementing, administering, and providing a strategic vision to execute the ‘Strategy', as agreed to with top level management. The COO must remain nimble to the evolving and changing needs of the business by creating sustainable relationships, protocols, and processes to support new initiatives as well as optimizing the current platform.

Reporting relationship

The COO Investments will report directly to Global Atlantic’s President of Investments.

Location

The COO will be based in Global Atlantic’s offices at 30 Hudson Yards in New York City.

Key Responsibilities

Business Operations and Administration

  • Supervise and direct day to day business operations that support the Investment team.
  • Advise the President of Investments on key management and administrative matters to produce outcomes aligned with business strategy.
  • Manage strategic initiatives and projects that support the strategy and growth plans including infrastructure, new products, and optimization. 
  • Closely collaborate with Human Resources on performance measurement management.
  • Partner with the Head of Investment Operations to help manage operations’ connectivity and escalation of issues to Investments stakeholders more broadly.
  • Manage the production of key strategy presentations for the CIO and President of Investments that reflect the team’s vision and outlook and act as Investments’ representative at key firmwide operating and risk committees.
  • Own Investments team budget process and expense management (including third party vendor oversight) in coordination with FP&A and CFO organization; set thoughtful budget guidelines as part of regular forecasting process.

Gateways: Maximize Revenue via Coordination within the Origination of Investment Themes and Ideas

  • Ensure all ‘gateways’ internal and external are leveraged for the firm, including processes that harvest high value outcomes (fee and advisory/relationship based) for both Global Atlantic and KKR. 
  • Drive relationships across Global Atlantic’s retail and institutional teams (including COO counterparts), and support Global Atlantic / KKR priorities including maximizing financial and franchise outcomes amidst evolving market and regulatory environments.

Create platform leverage with CIO & Investments President

  • Communication and chemistry are maximized between CIO, President and COO - seamless connectivity and vision are critical.
  • Become a trusted and transparent partner to foster constructive outcomes across the broader franchise.
  • Wherever possible, complement the CIO and President’s experience and management styles to produce efficient results to cascade Investments’ strategic and commercial goals.

 People, Talent and Culture: Leadership by example from the COO

  • Foster a dynamic culture of collaboration, diversity and inclusion, communication, connectivity, and relationship building, that leads to the successful execution of the team’s broader strategy. 
  • Partner with Human Resources on team goals and ensure key talent is acquired and retained in support of the strategic business plans.
  • Promote a culture of awareness and demonstrate compliance and controls that protect the firm and our people.  

Experience & Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in asset management or insurance-focused private equity highly preferred with ~5 years of experience in a similar COO leadership function.
  • Track record of high-performing leadership and successfully prioritizing and executing tasks in a fast-based environment where talented people are dedicated to driving results.
  • Demonstrates ability to create value through operational and continuous improvement; strong analytical orientation with superior presentation abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Undergraduate degree required with outstanding academic record, advanced degree highly preferred.

  • Appreciation of technology requirements and implementation resourcing for large scale initiatives such as process automation and portfolio management platforms.

  • Some nationwide travel will be required.

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.  Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $191,000 to $365,000.
