Position Summary:  

The Sr. Vice President, Head of Enterprise Project Management will be a direct report to the Chief Operating Officer at Global Atlantic Financial Group. This position can be based out of Global Atlantic's office in New York, Hartford, Des Moines or Boston

The SVP, Head of Enterprise Project Management will be responsible for the governance of all projects for the enterprise and direct management of key strategic projects that will be managed through the Project Management Office.  In addition, you will be responsible for strategic planning, resource management and project delivery and benefits tracking. In addition, this individual will ensure that project scope, plans and timelines, budgets, and project resources are allocated effectively, and insuring Enterprise projects meet strategic intent and benefits. The SVP, Head of Enterprise Project Management is accountable to enable continuous communication, continuous improvement, and ensures that any project risks are identified early and mitigated. This individual must have strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across the enterprise.  Must be able to travel to all locations 30% of the time.  

 Responsibilities: 

  • Overall responsibility for the Global Atlantic project portfolio and the function
  • Managing the governance and coordination of Enterprise projects that are local and EPMO delivered 
  • Manage the short- and long-term roadmap for the EPMO 
  • Develop a Portfolio Management and Project Delivery Model that includes project management methodologies, tools, project team organization structures, identifications of risks, decision making responsibilities, etc.  
  • Accountable for the funding and resource allocation and spending of all projects managed by the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)  
  • Provide regular and timely communication to stakeholders using status reports and roadmaps and manage reporting to agreed upon metrics  
  • Insure that various strategic projects have benefits that can be tracked 
  • Reviews existing processes and develops new ones 
  • Insure that interdependencies are called out and linked within portfolios 
  • Apply new standards to the Portfolio Management Framework as they are developed  
  • Drive project management capability development including recruitment, selection, skills and competency assessment, performance management, certification, training, and career planning 
  • Prepare and lead high level presentations for Governance committees   
  • Serve on the Integrated Planning Team for Global Atlantic  
  • Ensures the organization delivers on the strategic plan 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree and related field experience 
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Ability to manage large scale budgets 
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex business processes, technology and change programs across a matrixed organization for a Fortune 500 company 
  • Able to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment. Problem-solver with the ability to translate qualitative and quantitative information into actionable recommendations 
  • Able to inspire the trust, confidence and respect of peers and other senior leaders
  • Develops talent for the future. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills – including oral and written communications, relationship building, collaboration, influencing, negotiation and conflict mediation – across a broad range of levels in the organization 
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility and focus in a dynamic environment 
  • Advanced skills in business management tools including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and Access.  
  • Experienced with technology portfolio and risk management tools and data facilities 

Preferred: 

  • Advanced degree 
  • PMP certification preferred 

 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.  Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $167,360 to $318,780.
