POSITION OVERVIEW

The Vice President of Public Relations and Corporate Communications will be responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership. 

This role is critical to our leadership and strategy supporting our exceptional growth.  This individual will be responsible for leading the firm’s efforts across Public Relations, Social Media and Employee Communications and will be relied upon to develop and execute strategic communications plans that advance business objectives and influence public opinion, as well as enhance corporate recognition and reputation in support of building our brand.   As the leader of PR, this position will also play a critical role on the cross-functional crisis management team and special situation projects. In addition, the role will oversee our Employee Communications team in driving an informed and engaged workforce. The ideal candidate is passionate about our businesses, the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and growing organization where they can both roll up their sleeves as well as operate at the more strategic levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan (covering Public Relations & Social Media) to advance our brand identity, broaden awareness of our businesses and increase the visibility of Global Atlantic across key stakeholder audiences.
  • Partner with key leaders across the organization to develop a robust thought leadership platform.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business, financial and industry media.
  • Generate media opportunities in advancement of Global Atlantic’s Brand
  • Advance the Social Media strategy to support PR efforts, thought leadership and brand advancement – including creating social media content strategy and driving engagement.
  • Serve as spokesperson on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization.
  • Develop content, including bylined articles, press releases, media pitches.
  • Build bridge between senior leadership and the media, working in collaboration with an agency.
  • Optimize PR and Social Media communication channels against meaningful KPIs, while making data-informed decisions to advance our efforts. 
  • Field media inquiries, vetting across organization and defining path forward.
  • Manage and oversee PR agency.
  • Coordinate and partner with parent company KKR’s media team to ensure consistent response and awareness.
  • Define any technological dependencies for successful strategic execution.
  • Understand the overall business objectives and identify opportunities and develop strategies in order to effectively promote specific campaigns initiatives, achievements and milestones
  • Oversee our Employee communication efforts to support our Engage, Educate and Celebrate strategy.
  • Ensure alignment of messages across internal and external communications.
  • Drive awareness of media success/coverage internally among leaders and employee
  • Partner closely with Marketing organization to support key campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in public relations, journalism, communications or related field is required
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior public relations role, either in house or agency
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier reporters and editors and in successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high impact placements
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in developing and managing a comprehensive strategic communication, media relations and social media program to advance the organizations goals
  • Exceptional ability to both dig deep, roll up your sleeves and get the job done, while at the same time, the ability to operate at a strategic level
  • Innovative thinking, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
  • Experience in building, mentoring and coaching a broad communications team
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage senior executives, as well as direct and indirect reports and peers
  • Demonstrated ability to align messaging across internal and external communications and create efficiencies to amplify messaging.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast paced and changing environment and anticipate future needs
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal communications skills, and ability to effectively interface with Senior Leadership.
  • Strong industry knowledge of reinsurance, annuities and life insurance industry a plus
  • Strong writing skills and experience developing compelling pitches
  • Critical and structured thinker with superior analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to synthesize information, set and execute on strategic and tactical objectives
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments
  • Creative and energetic personality

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.  Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $146,000 to $280,000.
