Global Atlantic’s Licensing and Contracting team is undergoing a system transformation and insourcing new work resulting in a new team and front line manager.  The Licensing & Contracting Associate will lead the L&C team and support an aggressive strategy to drive our growth and achieve a scalable organization. They will be responsible for the oversight of contracting new agents, fulfilling regulatory and administrative licensing transactions, identifying process improvement opportunities, and driving outcomes to reduce cost, strengthen controls, and gain efficiency. They will also be accountable to support and execute various business initiatives. In addition, this position will have contact with various levels of Management, Distributors, Vendors, and TPA’s to ensure all compliance and key controls are maintained within company thresholds and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and manage 10 to 14 staff supporting the Licensing & Contracting team within the Enterprise Agency Services organization to include TPA oversight
  • Manage the establishment of contracting, procedures, documentation, and strategies related to the efficient administration of processes
  • Coach team members and provide developmental feedback to help employees strengthen new skills and expertise
  • Exhibit change management competencies and strong leadership to guide team members through a significant transformation
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment
  • Think critically, identify trends, resolution, drive continuous improvement and streamline flows of processes and the customer experience
  • Respond to customer escalations and address root cause obstacles
  • Oversee and engage direct reports to meet or exceed quality and productivity goals including deadlines for department standards
  • Maximize performance through clear communication of performance standards for incoming customer calls and processing requests
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and Compliance to ensure processes and procedures are within the corporate governance, regulatory framework, and industry requirements
  • Own and support time-sensitive research initiatives
  • Adapts readily to competing demands, shifting priorities and rapid change
  • Keep staff focused on most critical initiatives and highest value activities
  • Support and represent L&C in automation, portfolio projects, and digital strategies
  • Analyze data to measure the customer experience and drive high quality, low effort for our Distributors
  • Develop professional and dependable working relationships across the organization and with external customers
  • Remain current on changes and updates for processes and operational procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations and expectations
  • Responsible for adhering to all company guidelines and policies
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


  • Licensing & Contracting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business Administration, Communications, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the Insurance industry
  • 5+ years of proven leadership experience and skills
  • Experienced in leading or delivering projects with solid track record of successful execution
  • Proven track record in retaining talent and driving a high performing team
  • Proficient software skills, including Microsoft Office with a focus in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication and change management experience
  • Exhibited attention to detail with notable organizational skills
  • High motivation and execution
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid interpersonal skills with willingness to successfully support a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude when dealing with difficult situations
