Job Summary

This role is responsible for the overall technical and functional program management of initiatives being undertaken by the IT Infrastructure & Operations Team.  In addition to managing the interdependencies between various projects and external teams needed to deliver our business goals, this role will also require direct Technical/Functional Program management of some of the larger initiatives in the program that span multiple teams, stakeholders and end users. This role will also require performing business analysis, engaging with multiple business functions and helping drive functional requirements for existing initiatives as well also proposing new initiatives that will provide significant business value.

Business Functions Covered by this Role

The IT Infrastructure and Operations Team consists of IT Service Management/Help Desk, Identity & Access Management, IT Infrastructure, IT Operations, Enterprise/Cloud Architecture, Cloud Operations, Audio Video Technology, and partners extensively with IT Governance and Audit and Compliance functions.

Key duties / Essential Functions

This role will include but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Overall Program and Governance management for IT Infrastructure and Operations initiatives and projects
  • Ensuring appropriate and productive engagement of key technical stakeholders such as Information Security, IT Enterprise Architecture, and IT Business Partners
  • Participating in technical conversations during ideation/planning, execution, and validation
  • Budget tracking and reporting for discretionary efforts
  • Requirements gathering
  • Identification of acceptance criteria and definition of done at the task, milestone, and initiative level
  • Task and milestone identification and tracking
  • Risk and issue reporting, mitigation, and remediation facilitation
  • Resource coordination both an intra- and extra-departmental basis
  • Dependency tracking within initiatives
  • Participation in technology governance activities
  • Creating proposals and recommendations and general documentation
  • Escalation and communication of incidents and risk
  • Driving quality and ensuring quality assurance goals are achieved
  • Documenting run state operational models and ensuring appropriate transition from project to steady state for delivered initiatives
  • Interfacing with all levels of IT from individual contributors, middle manager, leadership, and CTO.

Skills and competencies:

Five or more years’ experience in:

  • Project management and governance role within information technology serving on technical teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of technical project delivery
  • High level understanding of VMware virtualization, Citrix desktop-as-a-service, storage, networking, and information security concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with highly technical and engineering staff

Experience with and knowledge of:

  • PMP or similar or dedicated experience in coordination role
  • SOX and audit/regulator domains relevant to public, financial services organizations
  • Familiarity with privacy and security regulatory standards and requirements
  • Technology procurement, licensing, budgeting, and support

General skills include:

  • Exceptional communication skills with diverse audiences
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership, project, and team-building skills to drive projects and initiatives in multiple departments
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information programs and technology projects
  • The ability to be engage with both technical and non-technical partners and stakeholders

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with focus in management information systems, engineering, or related technical field highly preferred.
