At Global Atlantic, the role of VP, Human Resources Business Partner is an integral part of the business leadership team.  In NYC, the HRBP role will be responsible for driving the alignment of business, HR strategies and initiatives for assigned business units.  Reporting to the Head of Human Resources Business Partners, you will work closely with leadership to improve business performance, prepare the talent of the future, and further the culture of Global Atlantic.  The expectation of our organization is that the HRBP will act as a trusted advisor and coach to the assigned teams.  As both a strategic partner and a hands on and detail driven expert, they will provide insights, counsel, and change leadership to the business on how to effectively move the business forward. Building partnerships across the HR function, the HRBP will proactively share information and develop integrated solutions in response to business demand.  Using HR metrics, the HRBP will drive recommendations that improve performance, retention, and employee engagement in close partnership with the broader HR functions. The HRBP is expected to develop strong business acumen about our business, its financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition.  Close partnerships with our Executives as well as their direct report teams will allow the right person an ability to operate at a senior level having significant influence on the direction of our organization.


  • Proactive and thoughtful development and design- having a seat at the leadership table and setting strategic direction to move our business forward. As a change manager, the expectation is that you will coach and facilitate organization structure, job design, staffing models, goals and more.
  • Working closely with our Talent team, you will have responsibility to coach business leaders on leadership behaviors and practices, employee communication, development and performance management strategies and tactics to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development, including employee engagement / acting as a culture carrier throughout our offices.
  • Use key metrics to influence and drive positive change as your share emerging trends in staffing, engagement, retention, and efficiencies.  Proactively partners across Global Atlantic’s HR team to make recommendations for programs and other enhancements.  You will use various sources of data to drive decisions and make recommendations.
  • Strong connection with Global Atlantic’s compensation team to ensure clear and effective linkage between goal setting, performance measurement and recognition/ reward.
  • In partnership with the Employee Relations lead, coaches’ managers on managing and resolving employee relations issues.  Maintains working knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Coaches line managers on how to communicate changes, monitors, and shares employee feedback.
  • In partnership with business leaders and the Talent team, you will support talent management strategy for designated client groups including plans and execution around development and succession.  Works with business leader and HR leadership to improve business performance by identifying talent/skill gaps and organizational issues that may limit the performance of the business.  Collaborates within HR to define and develop career paths based on future business and talent goals. 
  • Acts as a liaison between Talent Acquisition and business leaders to ensure the workforce meets business demands.  Provides guidance and insight into talent needs and recruitment challenges, assists with job design and organizational benchmarking. Participates in executive level selection process providing insight into competencies and organization development needs.  Assists in staff planning and forecasting while supporting overall engagement and inclusion efforts.
  • Work remotely with client groups that are in other locations.  25% or less travel may be required. 


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience. 
  • Minimum 15 years of Human Resources experience with specific experience as an HR Business Partner or generalist experience supporting senior leaders
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and experience leveraging data to diagnose problems and drive solutions. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are imperative to moving the business forward.
  • Ability work both independently and as an active member of both business and HR teams, both as a strategic advisor and hands on contributor.


  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional designation in HR a plus
  • A combination of HR experience in the following areas: Organizational design, succession planning, performance management, diversity and inclusion, business consulting, compensation and rewards, recognition programs, employee engagement, coaching and development, Talent management, conflict resolution, talent acquisition, data analysis, and employee relations.
  • People leadership experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies
  • Proven record of impact and influence at the senior leadership level and demonstrated ability to build positive trusting partnerships with all levels of employees
  • Proven ability to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinking skills to drive appropriate solutions
  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, consult with and coach all levels in the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation and presentation skills

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $110,433 to $262,786.
