Life New Business Team

POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary purpose of the Life NB Business Analyst is to assist in the implementation of projects initiated by EPMO, Legal, Compliance, Underwriting, Audit, Continuous Improvement, Product Development, Digital and Transformation or Sales that impact the Life New Business team and processes. The business analyst would apply technical expertise to identify and articulate requirements, execute on tasks owned by new business to support project work, negotiate timelines with project leaders, create or update content in training materials, reference guides and procedures on Confluence, document and provide status updates through Asana and other communication tools. The secondary purpose of the Life NB Business Analyst is to play an active role in the Life NB team by aligning with team goals and SLAs; providing support and assistance in production. For this position, the ideal candidate should be an experienced case manager, with demonstrated ability to work across functional teams and have an in-depth understanding of current and future case management processes with a strong working knowledge of case management systems.  

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical and experiential expertise to assist with the design, development, implementation of changes that impact and support Life NB processes
  • Collaborates with project teams and business owners/leaders to align on best overall solutions, provide completion of tasks assigned to Life NB
  • Collaborates with the business leaders and process partners for effective change management, support, and communication to the user communities
  • Identifies areas of opportunity within the Life NB framework to increase productivity, efficiency, quality, or eliminate waste
  • Creates documentation including business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, user guides, process flows, and wireframes to support implementation efforts
  • Posts updates to operational documents, Confluence and SharePoint pages and sites, knowledge articles and other various internal knowledge resources
  • Using Agile methodology for projects, identify, categorize, and maintain an active and relevant backlog of priorities and enhancements
  • Participates in development of projects; contributes to scoping & planning, designing, testing and delivery
  • Effectively communicates status of work and provides regular updates
  • Performs various operational, clerical, and/or administrative support tasks as assigned; serves as back-up support in the day-to-day New Business Case Management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in Life New Business Case Management
  • Knowledge in and experience with Microsoft O365 suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Forms, Power Automate, OneNote, Teams and Visio), Salesforce, Confluence, JIRA products  
  • Prior experience in Project Management and/or SME within Life New Business on one or more operational teams or COE’s
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely
  • Ability to lead change via collaboration, influence, and execution
  • Demonstrated adaptability, accountability, and ability to overcome ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well in a close team environment as both leader and collaborator
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and creative thinking
  • Excellent customer service skills with a “can-do” attitude and the ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage / coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluency in critical thinking, structured analysis, and problem solving
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to self-start and take the appropriate initiative daily
