Global Atlantic Financial Company invites applications to join the team as a Finance Analyst. The Analyst will support the company’s Institutional business segment by delivering accounting and control functions. A key goal for this role is to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information, specifically supporting the accounting for targeted financial instruments managing risk in the Institutional business segment. The Analyst will monitor results of performance of the financial instruments and produce analyses on actual to expected performance The Analyst will receive exposure to various financial instruments as it relates to the Institutional business strategy. The Analyst will support the broader team of financial reporting professionals; completing validation of information provided by company sources    This is an extraordinary opportunity to grow with our dynamic and leading long-term, reinsurance business to gain exposure to life and annuity business across several accounting and capital regimes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly and quarterly reconciliations and establish tight accounting procedures and data control
  • Gather and complete information on investment performance of financial instruments and investigate unexpected results
  • Present performance and flux analysis findings to CAO and CFO
  • Identify opportunities for automation and enhancement of information to better monitor and report on investment performance
  • Maintain reporting for Management, Risk, Tax, and other stakeholders
  • Build, document and maintain controls, testing and procedures
  • Address questions on new financial instruments and partner with servicing teams, review and flag issues.
  • Complete build of reporting and close workbooks for new financial instruments
  • Provide support on new reinsurance transactions by following up and tracking deliverables for team, investigating execution questions
  • Assist in drafting accounting transaction memos

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in financial reporting or accounting roles, a plus
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence others and communicate across all areas of the company
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proven success delivering automation solutions highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Essbase, Hyperion, W Desk, Tableau, and other reporting and analysis applications a plus
