POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Accounting Systems Technical Lead will be responsible for managing the technical implementation of Global Atlantic’s Accounting Systems and data integrations. The ideal candidate has experience with the technical implementation of accounting systems and has a passion for continuous improvement.

This position will be accountable for leading the technical design and implementation of the Accounting systems. Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Plan, define, install, test, and configure application systems, including definition of server hardware and operating systems specifications.
  • Participate as a key leader in determining the technical direction of Accounting systems.
  • Work across the IT organization, determine system specifications through analysis of system performance, workflow, security needs, and access requirements.
  • Properly document specifications and continuously maintain runbooks for finance systems.
  • Monitor, analyze, tune, and otherwise maintain system performance.
  • Manage data integrations with Finance Systems, including integrations with GA Data Warehouse.
  • Lead troubleshooting of any issues regarding networks, software, hardware, and operating systems related to finance systems.
  • Lead and plan regular upgrades to Accounting applications and system components.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Other work as assigned, including ad hoc projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or similar combination or education and experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience working with a major Accounting system/platform. (Oracle, SAP, Workday)
  • Technical design and architecture experience required.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft Architecture and Financials a plus.
  • Experience with applications hosted in the OCI cloud specifically, use of Cloud Manager, a plus.
  • Familiar with typical system administration tasks.
  • Strong understanding and experience of Object-Oriented programming principles.
  • Aptitude to learn new technology and business processes.
  • Strong leadership, management, and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
