Associate, Capital Management will join the Statutory Accounting, Reporting, and Capital Management Team, and will report to the VP of Statutory Accounting, Reporting and Capital Management.  The role is fills a unique need in the department and in the company, primarily responsible for a broad array of capital management activities, including NAIC capital forecasting, coordination of capital movements between companies, and supporting material reinsurance and investment transactions.  Additionally, the candidate should expect to respond to a number of ad hoc requests related to a variety of capital questions including rating agency capital, Bermuda capital, Group Capital Calculation, as examples.  It is an individual contributor role and will have some support as needed from a more junior team member.

Candidates must be active team members, interacting with cross-functional departments as well as mid-level and senior leaders.  Specific role responsibilities include:


  • Prepare an entity level RBC estimate each quarter as well as applicable pro forma views
    • Expand functional forecast to annual and multi-year view
  • Review and provide feeback to FPnA team regarding stat capital forecasting models
  • Complete an A-to-E analysis quarterly on stat capital, by entity

Capital Moves:

  • Coordinate cross-functional group to propose and execute intercompany capital movements
  • Obtain finance committee approvals for capital moves and instruct treasury and legal to execute steps

Support Material Transactions and Implementations: 

  • Complete capital sections of reinsurance deal memos
  • Respond to capital impact questions from KKR and GA asset origination teams
  • Support systems implementations as needed to access relevant data to support capital processes

Advise the Business on Capital:

  • Develop standard an ad hoc reports to guide capital decisions
  • Contribute to Executive Capital Committee materials
  • Share insight on areas where the company has opportunity to optimize capital
  • Provide feedback to deployment channels (Institutional, Individual, Investments) on capital use actuals


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience in accounting, planning and capital in a life insurance company
  • Capability of working with high volumes of data
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions from research and report on findings
  • Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability
