Summary of Position:

As part of this new role, the Operations Reinsurance Lead will play a major part in setting up and running GA’s new reinsurance servicer oversight program to support Global Atlantic’s fast growing reinsurance business.  The candidate is joining a small team supporting reinsurance transaction and execution activities and managing our existing strategic servicer relationships with a focus on proactive administration oversight of our business to help identify and address potential servicing issues before they impact financials.

Located in our Boston office, this position reports to the VP, Operations Relationship Management.


  • Provide knowledge of all aspects related to Life & Annuity insurance administration functions as part of the reinsurance deal team risk assessment, execution and post-deal monitoring activities
  • Assist with setting-up our new Reinsurance Servicer Administration Oversight Program (e.g. develop assessment templates for each counterparty, plan for and launch counterparty reach-outs, review agreement provision rights)
  • Coordinate and actively manage the Reinsurance Servicer Admin Oversight Program (e.g set-up, prepare for and conduct administration reviews, prepare assessment reports, coordinate, and conduct administrative audits)
  • Participate in pre-reinsurance transaction confirmatory diligence related to policy administration
  • Assess administration servicer transition options, third party administrators, transition costs/timelines/risks/requirements/resources in situations where a contemplated reinsurance transaction could include servicing
  • Responsible for reviewing and drafting administration related provisions included in our reinsurance agreements
  • Work with our reinsurance TPA and internal parties to service the various insurance blocks of policies; activities include project management, incident management, risk assessment, business planning, requirements buildout, and management reporting
  • Support business activities by partnering with external and internal groups (e.g. Legal and Compliance, Finance, Risk, etc.) and provide assistance with metrics tracking and analysis
  • Prepare presentations and reports for external and internal stakeholders


  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in insurance or reinsurance operations
  •  Financial services operations, business consulting/audit or similar function with responsibility for planning; day to day administration, issue resolution, and management reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from inception to successful implementation. In addition, a demonstrated ability to identify and remediate project risks
  • Strong communication skills, work ethic, with high level of personal integrity and accountability
  • Relationship management experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set, organizational skills, and attention to detail skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
