Reporting to the group’s Vice President, the AVP, Enterprise Operational Risk will play an integral role in developing, implementing, and maintaining Global Atlantic’s Enterprise Operational Risk Framework, including a Model Risk Framework and Third Party Risk Strategy. The successful candidate will have opportunities to interact with senior leadership and to collaborate with colleagues across the firm; as such, he/she must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal effectiveness, strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as possess analytical aptitude. The successful candidate typically excels in a dynamic work environment and can take on a diverse set of responsibilities while delivering quality results. As part of a growing Company and team, the successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with and learn from the broader Risk organization. Depending on experience and expertise, potential responsibilities include:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strong partnerships with Department and/or entity-level risk and control experts (including, but not limited to, collaboration to further mature the Company’s Bermuda-based operational risk processes)
  • Further develop and manage the Company’s innovative GRC program, including driving cross-functional efficiencies across risk domains
  • Drive enhancements to enterprise operational risk analytics and reporting for Management and Board-level Risk Committees
  • Assume a leadership role in the development and management of key policies, including an enterprise-wide Third Party Risk Policy and ongoing program maturity
  • Collaborate with department leaders to mature the Company’s new activity risk assessment processes and post deal-closing/implementation oversight
  • Collaborate with Department leaders develop and implement an operational risk capital rating scale
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in various risk and control areas (i.e., Internal Audit, SOX, Enterprise Data) to design and implement cross-functional process improvements
  • Other responsibilities depending on skillset and experience as business needs evolve

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience; familiarity with enterprise/operational/model/third-party risk frameworks
  • Excellent project management/organizational skills with demonstrated skill in managing competing priorities
  • Proven track record of exceptional client / stakeholder management; ability to influence team members inside and outside of immediate areas of responsibility and from a wide range of organizational backgrounds
  • Ability to take on projects that cover new ground for the team and the company; ability to work remotely across multiple geographies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prior consulting experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); proficiency in Tableau a strong plus
