Position Summary:

Global Atlantic is seeking a candidate to support the investment accounting and reporting for our growing Solar and Investments, which entails preparing the monthly reconciliations to validate the accuracy of the investment results, prepare management reporting, and required regulatory reporting. This position will also support process enhancements related to achieving an accelerated close that produces timely, accurate, and complete investment accounting results in an efficient manner on a GAAP and STAT basis. In addition to possessing the specific qualifications cited below, all candidates must work well within a complex, fast-paced, fluid environment and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for performing monthly solar investment reconciliations and summary of income reports for various solar internal securitizations.
  • Review and evaluate new solar transactions to determine and document the appropriate accounting treatment, such as HLBV, PPA Revenue Recognition, Asset Acquisition. Effectively communicate with the accounting policy team and external auditors for the key considerations and implications.
  • Develop and maintain a consolidation process, ensuring intercompany transactions are eliminated in our financial statements. 
  • Responsible for the preparation of investment disclosures related to Solar investments for Global Atlantic’s 10Q/K and certain management reports that provide analysis of investment results.
  • Participate in process redesign to create efficiencies that support an accelerated close, leveraging the data elements from our general ledger and investment systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Public Accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with accounting systems and related processes (PeopleSoft G.L., Blackline Knowledge is a plus)
  • Knowledge of Finance and Accounting, US GAAP for and solar project financing, familiarity with financial statements and processes including balance sheet presentation and P&L reconciliation and reporting
  • Understanding of solar investment lifecycle and relationship to accounting events
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.  
  • Knowledge/experience in US GAAP and Statutory accounting for investments
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including M.S. Excel;
  • Pro-active, detail-oriented, deadline-driven; possess excellent documentation and analysis skills.
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize with a hands-on approach, schedule and manage tasks effectively, conflict resolution, problem-solving, risk management.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
