Senior Analyst BFO


The Senior Analyst will join Global Atlantic’s Business Finance Office in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in New York. This role collaborates with their business partners to provide critical analysis and business intelligence to execute on Global Atlantic’s strategic plan, improve organizational effectiveness, and drive analytical rigor across the company.  This position will work closely with the Investment Office and multiple teams across the company to support business initiatives, ensure financial implications of business strategy are understood and financial pro-formas are used to support decision making.  The role also coordinates the preparation, performs analysis, and presents earnings and capital forecasts for senior management to make strategic decisions. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Deliver value to the business and improve financial performance by identifying opportunities to grow earnings, increase efficiency, and optimize capital
  • Streamline and automate the delivery of financial projections consolidating a set of complex inputs that enable transparency into performance and provide levers to the business to manage
  • Support the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc presentations to senior management, including the Board of Directors around financial performance of business drivers and key metrics
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to develop new and enhanced reporting solutions that tracks the economics of our investment office portfolio performance
  • Synthesize a holistic story on business performance and facilitate a deeper understanding and tracking of business drivers relative to expectations
  • Track intra-quarter activity on emerging trends between quarterly financial close production cycles, including developing a plan and executing on shifting from a quarterly to a monthly close process
  • Act as collaborator with Investment Office, Investment Accounting, Actuarial, Expense Management, Treasury, Tax, Risk and Finance regarding all financial information related to the business unit
  • Quantify and track financial implications of strategic initiatives of the organization, including building out new business cases as emerging trends and priorities are established


  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting, in particular financial accounting for complex instruments
  • Very strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent partnership and relationship building skills
  • Sharp analytical / quantitative and technical abilities; must be proficient in Excel and Powerpoint
  • Can prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
  • 2+ years of experience. Experience in asset management, insurance, consulting, or investment banking is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of corporate finance or various asset classes is a plus
