Finance Systems Senior Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a member of the Finance Technology Systems team within IT department, the Finance Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting applications and projects within the Finance business unit. The successful candidate must demonstrate an eagerness and ability to learn new systems and processes, a high level of analytical aptitude, and an ability to work independently while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. The candidate must be an effective communicator able to speak easily with both technology and functional users and serve as an intermediary when necessary. As well, the candidate must be able to excel in a high pressure, fast paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration of financial applications: provide daily functional and technical support and expertise based on support service level agreements (SLA)
  • Manage and fulfill requests from users based on priority and complexity
  • Develop familiarity and work effectively with various software and reporting packages: PeopleSoft Financials, Hyperion HFM, Planning & Essbase, nVision, Wings, Blackline
  • Willing to learn how to collaborate with Finance team to improve process efficiency through automation and system enhancement
  • On the job training will include participation in special projects including, but not limited to; task management, requirements gathering, GAP analysis, report writing and application
  • Learn to creatively troubleshoot issues and document solutions to prevent future occurrence
  • Participate in building and maintaining an effective control structure within Finance technology
  • Provide training to new and existing users on current and future functionality
  • Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects or requests.
  • Provides on-call assistance as requested, for after-hours issues and support needs

EDUCATION

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an IT or Finance related field or similar combination or education and experience

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar Financial management solutions is required
  • Minimum of one year full time work experience in financial industry
  • Minimum of one year experience supporting a Finance Department
  • Basic understanding of technological and accounting concepts
  • Strong MS Excel and Word skills; Vizio and Access preferred, but not required
  • Prior administration of applications a plus, but not required
