POSITION OVERVIEW

Global Atlantic is seeking an Compliance Associate to join the Operations Compliance team in Brighton MA or Hartford, CT. This role will be responsible for conducting compliance testing across multiple lines of business within Global Atlantic, supporting the company’s 38(a)-1 Compliance program and supporting the Vice President of Operations Compliance. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting periodic testing of key business policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations
  • Preparation of formal reports summarizing test results and recommended opportunities for enhancement
  • Conducting meetings with senior business leaders to discuss test results and recommended areas of enhancement
  • Assisting the firm in developing and implementing corrective actions as identified by the testing program and recommending enhancements to all facets of the business
  • Developing successful working relationships with Global Atlantic’s Business, Technology and Operational associates as well as Third Party Administrators
  • Conducting periodic surveillance of key operational areas and preparation of memoranda documenting the surveillance results
  • Periodic review and maintenance of policies, procedures, risk assessments and key risk indicators
  • 10% travel associated with this role
  • Performing or overseeing the following additional responsibilities:
    • Assist with periodic compliance testing and support of Global Atlantic’s registered investment adviser
    • Provide compliance support on operational initiatives and related matters
    • Ad hoc projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum (5) years of legal and/or compliance-related experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of state insurance laws
  • Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities and work effectively on multiple initiatives concurrently while maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Capacity to consider, process and filter large amounts of complex information quickly and identify appropriate actions in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong commitment to culture of accountability, collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability  
  • Effective prioritization of multiple tasks and willingness and initiative to seek out and take on increasing responsibilities
  • Highly organized, attention to detail 
  • Identification and appropriate escalation of issues, and development of solutions
