In July 2020, KKR & Co. signed a strategic transaction to acquire Global Atlantic.  The transaction is expected to close in early 2021, subject to required regulatory approvals and certain other customary closing conditions. 


Global Atlantic Financial Company is seeking a candidate for the position of Associate, Operations Strategist, Finance Management and Strategy.  Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Chief Finance Officer and COO of Finance with the management of the Company’s 180-person Finance Department. Work primarily with the CFO’s leadership team located in New York and Boston, as well as key functional leaders throughout the Finance complex.
  • Support organization with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, including major initiatives such as: Finance data strategy, driving compliance with the FASB’s new Long Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI) accounting standard; organizational analysis and reorganizations; Investment Accounting re-platforming; and automation of manual processes.
  • Build out and manage processes to track strategic business objectives for the Finance organization, including templates, reporting, metrics, and ongoing reviews.
  • Prepare materials in support of a range of deliverables, including for CFO townhalls, QBRs, weekly staff meetings, and to-all Finance communications.
  • Develop a broad knowledge of the Company’s businesses and the key Finance clients, including retail sales, reinsurance, and the investment office.
  • Partner with key support partners in HR (organizational design and strategy, recruiting, compensation and benefits, and headcount reporting), IT (data strategy, software ecosystem and expenses, general support), and Project Management Office (key strategic projects and process improvements).
  • Partner with and support the head of Strategic Sourcing to ensure narrative reporting, data, and strategy are aligned with the Finance and firmwide model.
  • Manage the budget for Finance, including annual planning, monthly and quarterly analysis of expense actuals vs. budget, quarterly reforecasting, allocation management, and headcount/comp analytics.
  • Complete ad-hoc analyses and presentations for senior management.


  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or a related field, plus four (4) years of experience in a strategic or business development role at a consulting firm, accounting firm, financial services company or similar capacity.

Prior work experience must include three (3) years:

  • Working independently to design and complete projects.
  • Collaborating with and supporting senior management, with the ability to work to and manage deadlines.
  • Using PowerPoint to create high-quality internal and stakeholder reports, with a level of detail and length that is appropriate to the audience.
  • Using PowerPoint to create templates and scorecards to track initiatives.
  • Using Excel to track data sets, data mine via pivot tables and VB, integrate data sets and produce summary outputs using VLookup/similar.
  • Using Tableau to create visual analyses of disparate data sets.

Prior work experience must include two (2) years:

  • Building out and managing processes to track strategic business objectives, including analytics to show impact and graphical presentation of status and business case.
  • Operating in an environment with partners such as HR, IT, Legal, Compliance, driving joint deliverables that depend on partner in put.
  • Delivering analyses that utilize data to develop a strategic narrative.
  • Communicating findings to senior audiences using written work product (in email, Excel, Tableau, and/or PowerPoint) as well as verbal presentations.
