In July 2020, KKR & Co. signed a strategic transaction to acquire Global Atlantic.  The transaction is expected to close in early 2021, subject to required regulatory approvals and certain other customary closing conditions. 


The AVP will join Global Atlantic’s Business Finance Office in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in New York. This role collaborates with their business partners to provide critical analysis and business intelligence to execute on Global Atlantic’s strategic plan, improve organizational effectiveness, and drive analytical rigor across the company. This position will work closely with the Institutional Business and multiple teams across the company to support business initiatives, ensure financial implications of business strategy are understood and financial pro-formas are used to support decision making. The role also coordinates the preparation, performs analysis, and presents earnings and capital forecasts for senior management to make strategic decisions. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Deliver value to the business and improve financial performance by identifying opportunities to grow earnings, increase efficiency, and optimize capital
  • Develop and deliver a new standardized reporting package that assists leadership with the ongoing economics and performance metrics of the business
  • Support the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc presentations to senior management, including the Board of Directors around financial performance of business drivers and key metrics
  • Drive a cross-functional initiative to develop new and enhanced reporting solution that tracks block transaction economics from original pricing to current day
  • Synthesize a holistic story on business performance and facilitate a deeper understanding and tracking of business drivers relative to expectations
  • Track intra-quarter activity on emerging trends between quarterly financial close production cycles, including developing a plan and executing on shifting from a quarterly to a monthly close process
  • Act as collaborator with Reinsurance, Investment Accounting, Actuarial, Expense Management, Treasury, Tax, Risk and Finance regarding all financial information related to the business unit
  • Quantify and track financial implications of strategic initiatives of the organization, including building out new business cases as emerging trends and priorities are established


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience. Experience in insurance, consulting, or investment banking is preferred
  • Preferred strong understanding of Statutory and GAAP accounting for US life insurance companies
  • Communicate financial performance in a clear and concise manner to senior leadership
  • Sharp analytical / quantitative and technical abilities; must be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient understanding of accounting, in particular financial accounting for complex instruments
  • Very strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent partnership and relationship building skills
  • Can prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
  • Proficient understanding of corporate finance or insurance product concepts is a plus
