In July 2020, KKR & Co. signed a strategic transaction to acquire Global Atlantic.  The transaction is expected to close in early 2021, subject to required regulatory approvals and certain other customary closing conditions.


The Actuarial Associate will join Global Atlantic’s Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis (EFP&A) team in either in Des Moines, Boston, or other remote location. This role will work closely with the Business Finance Office for the Institutional Business Unit and multiple teams across the company to develop, refine, and analyze projection models used to produce earnings and capital forecasts for senior management to make strategic decisions. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Integrate Institutional Business Plan into enterprise financial forecast models and dashboards on US GAAP and Statutory bases within cloud-based analytics platforms to facilitate deeper understanding and tracking of business performance relative to expectations
  • Interface with multiple upstream and downstream stakeholders across the organization to define business requirements, develop and test financial projection models across various accounting regimes (US GAAP, Statutory, etc.) for the Institutional Business, and serve as liaison to the model by providing insights across a wide range of drivers for the projections (Investments, Risk, Actuarial, etc)
  • Assist in capital budgeting and capital allocation management framework to support the firm’s Institutional business growth
  • Create adhoc proforma financial statement projections, and assist in quantifying and reviewing financial impacts of strategic initiatives to the Institutional Business Unit and the entire enterprise
  • Perform analysis on large underlying financial data sets using programming languages (e.g. Python) to extract business intelligence and facilitate the decision-making progress
  • Support the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc presentations to senior management and Institutional Business leadership, including the Board of Directors, around financial performance of business drivers and key metrics


  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
  • Sharp analytical / quantitative and technical abilities; Must be proficient in Excel
  • Developer with 1-2 years of programming experience with VBA, Python, Java, C++, or SQL/SAS
  • Basic understanding of corporate finance or actuarial concepts is a plus
  • Can prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
