In July 2020, KKR & Co. signed a strategic transaction to acquire Global Atlantic.  The transaction is expected to close in early 2021, subject to required regulatory approvals and certain other customary closing conditions.


Global Atlantic Financial Group is looking for a Benefit Analyst to join the Human Resources team. The Benefit Analyst will administer employee benefits and non-employee agent benefits. This position is located in Des Moines, Iowa (temporarily remote). Open to alternative locations.


  • Assist in administering benefits including but not limited to self-funded medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, wellness, leaves of absence, retirement and deferred compensation plans.
  • Assist in developing opportunities to achieve Employer of Choice status
  • Respond to benefit questions from employees and non-employee agents; escalate as needed.
  • Assist with managing annual enrollment, including communication and system configuration.
  • Manage benefit changes driven by new eligibility, loss of eligibility and qualifying life events.
  • Manage benefits communications calendar to deliver upon educational and regulatory messages.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of benefits enrollment, account balances, medical records and other sensitive HR data.
  • Maintain and foster working relationships with insurance carriers, retirement plan recordkeepers, third party administrators, consultants, payroll, HR Business Partners and other stakeholders.
  • May analyze and make recommendations regarding the solution of complex problems related to the design, development, and implementation of benefit plans.
  • Prepare reports related to enrollment, claims, leaves and expenses.
  • Provide support to employees and managers in evaluating accommodations and leave requests.
  • Participate in special projects across departmental and functional lines.
  • Assist in the development and administration of policies, procedures and system configuration.


  • 2+ years of experience working in Human Resources and/or Benefits
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human resources, Business Administration or other applicable degree field
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, working with all levels of the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; presents self and ideas clearly and concisely
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner
  • Adaptability, effectively responds to change, ambiguity and uncertainty with confidence
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and across time zones
  • Appreciation for ever-changing regulatory environment; ability to research
  • Appreciation for diversity of thought
  • Experience with ADP a plus
  • Experience with ADA and FMLA a plus
  • Experience with non-qualified retirement plans a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office SharePoint a plus
