This is a 10-week program. Our internship program is hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days remotely) and front office positions in NY are 4 days in the office.

The Global Atlantic People Operations team is looking to add a Co-Op or Post Grad intern to their team to work from February 2023 to June 2023. We are flexible with the amount of time you spend working with us - however we are looking for a minimum of 30 hours a week up to 40 hours per week. We are in the office 3 days a week and would like to have the selected candidate join us in the office as much as possible to ensure they are learning and growing with our team.

The People Ops & Data Analytics Intern will gain exposure to overall HR Analytics and Data Management. The team is looking for someone who can work part-time during the spring semester and come in office on a hybrid schedule in the Hartford, Connecticut office. The Intern will enhance their skills using excel report design and effectively present their analysis. The Intern will be mentored by AVP – People Ops., Data & Experience and will also receive coaching from SVP – TA, People Ops, Data & Experience. This is a learning intensive experience designed to provide deeper understanding of how and when People Analytics can be applied to improve critical activities such as Recruiting, Performance Appraisals, Promotion, Training, Compensation & Benefits and more.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design & update Data Reports for the People Team:
    • Create excel based dashboards from large data sets using pivot tables, charts & graphs, advanced excel formulas 
    • Get involved in all stages of HR data Analytics – source systems, data files, Tableau sandbox environments to help with key people metrics
    • Collect and clean data, analyze data, surface best practices & benchmark, prepare written reports & findings, presentations, visualizations
    • Liaison with various internal teams, HRIS, People Ops, DEI
  • Documentation:
    • Document tasks, draft requirements for creation of Tableau dashboards using data analysis that is already built on excel.
    • Support new projects, new data analytics requests (Exit Interviews/ Employee Surveys & Analysis)
    • Correlate data from different sources to get better understanding of the causation.


  • Bachelor's or Master's student studying in Mathematics, Statistics, Human Resources or Data Analytics who is available for an immediate Co-Op or Post Grad internship.
    • Coursework in HR Data Analytics/ Data Visualization a big plus
  • Must have strong Excel and PowerPoint experience.
  • Comfortable using multiple technology systems
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects. Can function well in organization where formal processes may not exist
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong networker externally and internally.
  • Pragmatic results orientation – takes initiative to make things happen. Not satisfied with status quo.
  • Thrives in a growing business.
  • Ability and desire to figure things out – intellectual curiosity. Ability to understand the applicability and limitations of technology systems.
