POSITION OVERVIEW

The Insurance Operations team is looking for a Process Optimization Intern to join for the summer of 2021. For this opening, we are targeting December 2022 and May 2023 grads. During this 10 week internship, the Intern will work on process improvement initiatives for our operations staff.

Primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assist with the data collection and analysis of operational processes
  • Assist with the development of daily reports covering received volume, team performance, schedule adherence, handle times, and additional KPIs.
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine bottlenecks & roadblocks in operational processes.
  • Develop process, value stream, and journey maps
  • Assist in the development of automated solutions to manual processes

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Management, Statistics, Data Science/Analytics, Computer Information Systems, Data, or other related degree
  • Candidate's graduating in December 2022 or May 2023
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access (Tableau, VBA, SQL, a plus)
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Skills in complex problem solving, judgment, critical thinking and decision making.
  • Ability to organize information and have attention to detail and accurately follow procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, management team, other Departments, vendors, and outside agencies, including being sensitive to professional ethics.
