In July 2020, KKR & Co. signed a strategic transaction to acquire Global Atlantic.  The transaction is expected to close in early 2021, subject to required regulatory approvals and certain other customary closing conditions.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Global Atlantic’s Institutional business began as a part of Goldman Sachs in 2004 as a principal investing group and separated as an independent company in 2013. We are a ~15-person principal investing team, focused on deploying capital on reinsurance and acquisition opportunities in the Life and Annuity industry. To date, the Institutional business has acquired over $35 billion of assets.

The Summer Analyst will join Global Atlantic’s New York Institutional business, work closely with other members of the team and interface with business leaders and senior management to:

  • Support in producing investment analysis on all potential reinsurance and acquisition opportunities. This consists of building three-statement financial models and presentation materials detailing the strategic rationale and economic thesis
  • Present investment recommendations to senior team-members
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare materials used to support transaction recommendations to Global Atlantic’s management team (including the CEO, CIO, CFO and CRO)
  • Engage in and support the negotiation of transaction opportunities with potential clients / counterparties
  • Monitor financial markets and assess impact on the business and potential transaction opportunities
  • Collaborate both within Institutional business, as well as with other areas such as Investments, Risk, Actuarial, Finance, and Legal

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with outstanding academic record and high level of personal integrity
  • Strong analytical / quantitative and technical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated interest in finance and strategy
  • Prior internships in investment banking, consulting, or insurance is preferred
